Circle · Pacts

Grow with the businesses who already have your customer.

A Pact is a group of 3 to 20 small businesses who share a customer and agree to grow together for one season. A shared gift guide. A content swap between brands. A circle that sends each other work. Musefunnel helps you find the group, spells out who gives what and keeps everyone in one conversation. No fee between any of you, ever.

Who do you want to grow with?

Example: other small brands for a Christmas gift guide.

Why a group, not a group chat

Small businesses have always done this. What’s been missing is the paperwork.

Three things go wrong on your own. A Pact fixes each one.

  1. Free riders

Ten say yes, three post. Every Pact spells out who gives what, and each close-out asks if you got it.

  2. Size mismatch

A 40k brand paired with a 900 one. Freyja looks for shared customers, not follower count.

  3. Group-chat chaos

Dates slide in WhatsApp, and “who’s in?” turns into 40 messages. Every Pact has an application link, dated milestones and one conversation.

One gift guide, six weeks: three brands publish one gift guide and share every customer.

Everyone’s customers become everyone’s customers.

One gift guide, six weeks.

The candle founder tells Freyja she wants Christmas sales without a Meta ads budget.

“Christmas is our biggest month and I can’t afford Meta ads this year. I want sales from people who already buy candles like ours.”

A Gift Edit would do that: a few small brands publish one gift guide and all promote it, so each brand’s customers see the others. Want me to find brands whose customers already buy yours?

Freyja suggests a Gift Edit and finds a skincare brand and a tea brand whose customers already buy hers.

Five ways to run a Pact

Pick a template. Freyja fills in the rest.

  • Gift Edit

6 to 20 small businesses publish one shared gift guide and all promote it.

    Best for
    DTC brands, makers, local retail
  • Collective Giveaway

4 to 10 brands pool a prize and run one giveaway from one entry page the organiser sets up.

    Best for
    DTC product brands
  • Newsletter Ring

3 to 6 businesses with the same customer recommend each other to their email lists over one month.

    Best for
    DTC brands, service providers
  • Social Ring

A content swap for a group. 3 to 10 brands each post about another member, so everyone features someone and gets featured.

    Best for
    DTC brands, creators
  • Referral Circle

A small circle of businesses who serve the same customer and send each other work. One seat per category.

    Best for
Service providers, event and local services
  • Custom Pact: start from a blank agreement.

Not a product brand? Pacts work for anyone who shares a customer. A wedding photographer, florist and celebrant run a Referral Circle. A group of beauty creators run a Social Ring. Same rules, same plan.

The agreement, the partners and one conversation.

  • Who gives what

Each member’s contribution spelled out before anyone joins.

  • The right partners

Freyja matches on shared customers, never on who pays. Or share your Pact link and screen who applies.

  • One conversation

Dated milestones, one group thread, no WhatsApp.

  • A private close-out

Each member notes what they gave, what they got and what came of it. Answers stay private.

What it costs

No fee between businesses.

Start a Pact: on the $10/month plan.

Join your first Pact: free.

Join or run more: on the same $10/month plan.

We never take a cut of what you sell or swap, and Freyja never suggests people based on who pays.

Questions

What’s the difference between a Pact and a Swap?

A Swap is two of you trading one thing, like a content swap where you post about them and they post about you. A Pact is 3 to 20 businesses working to one plan for a season.

Who can start a Pact?

Anyone on the $10/month plan: brands, local businesses, creators and service providers. Most are started by brands.

What if there aren’t enough brands like mine on Musefunnel yet?

Bring your own. Every Pact has a recruitment link you can drop in a local business group chat or a small business Facebook group. People apply through it, you see their audience, and you approve who fits.

How do members join?

Apply through the Pact’s link or find it in Circle, and the organiser approves each member. You’ll need a connected social account so the group can see your audience.

What if someone doesn’t deliver?

Everyone’s contribution is agreed before they join, every milestone is dated, and the close-out asks each member whether they got what was promised. You approve who joins, so you can say no to anyone you’re unsure of.

Can a Pact hire a photographer?

Yes. Add a paid role and it’s posted as an Opportunity linked to the Pact. Hiring someone doesn’t make them a Pact member.

What happens at the end?

A short private close-out: what you gave, what you got, and whether you’d run it again. Run it again starts next season’s draft with new dates. Running it again is on the plan.

I’m a creator or service provider. Can I join or start one?

Yes. Start or join a Referral Circle with others who serve the same client, run a Social Ring with creators in your niche, or get hired through a Pact’s paid role.

Three places, for three parts of a launch.

Circle to find the people. Albums for the night itself. Studio, soon, for what you post afterwards.
